D-Dexterity Training Course

Course Summary

The D-Dexterity Course is a 3-day class where students will learn to leverage the premier controls brand Distech Controls™ and their software packages, which facilitate and expedite the deployment of various technologies. Topics include programming with EC-gfx Program and commissioning with Xpress Network Utility. Students will establish peer-to-peer communications, create a custom program from scratch given a sequence of operations, and integrate the programmed controllers into supervisor control software like EC-Net Supervisor4.

  • Programming Controllers, preloaded, pre-engineered, and creating custom programs
  • Creating your own complex program from a Sequence of Operations
  • Customizing the EC-SmartVue Sensors and integrating these customizations into your own program you wrote from scratch!
  • This course is intended for individuals working with the Niagara Framework who want to navigate and understand comfortably how it fits and what services it provides to a building.
  • Each student must have a Windows Computer with Windows 10 or Windows 11 Operating System.
  • Students must have administrator/root-level privileges on their computers, including the ability to turn off the Windows firewall and to download/install software. Students must also have an internet browser like Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
  • Students will need to be able to download a version of the latest Niagara (By Tridium) Software and the licenses for these will be provided for training.
  • Students need a functional working knowledge of Windows, computers, and MS Office to navigate this course successfully.
  • Students should have a distraction-free environment for the class.
  • A 2nd monitor is highly recommended.
  • Students must have an internet connection to access and maintain the class during class hours.
    Students must have administrator/root-level privileges on their computers, including the ability to turn off the Windows firewall and to download/install software.
  • Students must also have an internet browser like Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
