Course Summary

The 2-day Niagara 4 Operations Course aims to educate and train individuals on the Niagara Framework and the software.

This class was designed as a pre-cursor to the Niagara 4 Technical Certification Program, and the Niagara Operations class is highly recommended for any individual or entity looking to understand better why the Niagara Framework exists and how to navigate it.

Cost: $1100 per seat for Virtual AND In-Person, instructor lead Bundles are available with the Niagara4 TCP (Level I) which start at $3400 per seat for both courses with a free Certification exam retake.

  • Niagara Framework Fundamentals and Navigation
  • Making a New Station
  • Commissioning a JACE – This provides some insight into object-oriented programming and how it is used
  • Simple Programming Logic in a Wire Sheet – PID Loop Concept and Control Theor
  • Introduction to Metadata and Tag
  • Alarm Notifications/Alarm Porta
  • History / Trend Data Collection
  • Building a Simple PX View/Graphical User Interface
  • BACnet/IP Integration
  • Security & User Administration (Categories, Role Permissions, and User Accounts, simpler than the N4 TCP)
  • Station Copies, Backing-up Stations, and Restoring from a Backup
  • This course is intended for individuals working with the Niagara Framework who want to navigate and understand comfortably how it fits and what services it provides to a building.
  • Each student must have a Windows Computer with Windows 10 or Windows 11 Operating System. 
  • Students must have administrator/root-level privileges on their computers, including the ability to turn off the Windows firewall and to download/install software. Students must also have an internet browser like Chrome, or Microsoft Edge. Students will need to be able to download a version of the latest Niagara (By Tridium) Software and the licenses for these will be provided for training. 
  • Students need a functional working knowledge of Windows, computers, and MS Office to navigate this course successfully.
  • Students should have a distraction-free environment for the class. 
  • A 2nd monitor is highly recommended.
  • Students must have an internet connection to access and maintain the class during class hours. 
  • Students must have administrator/root-level privileges on their computers, including the ability to turn off the Windows firewall and to download/install software.
  • Students must also have an internet browser like Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
